A Cozy Rainy Day | The Little Joys of Simple Country Life: Gardening and Home

In this video, I'll share the small joys of village life on a rainy day. In the morning, I pick garlic and tie it into bunches to dry—a bit of a chore, but a very enjoyable one. Then I pick raspberries to freeze so I can treat myself and my family this summer. The day continues with making homemade potato casserole—a simple and delicious dish that the whole family always loves. Meanwhile, it's raining outside, but inside it's cozy and warm—that's exactly how I love spending days in the village. I'll also show you how I organize my spice jars—so everything is within easy reach and looks beautiful. All this is part of my slow, calm life, so pleasant and authentic. Raw peeled potatoes - approximately 800 g Ground meat - 600-700 g Onions (medium) - 1-2 Carrots - 1 (medium) Mozzarella cheese - 50 g Aged cheese, such as Parmesan, for sprinkling Chicken egg - for mashed potatoes Milk (optional) - for mashed potatoes Butter Vegetable oil - for frying Salt - to taste Pepper - to taste All ingredients are approximate; you can add or subtract according to your taste. Boil the potatoes in salted water and mash them. Add butter, egg, and optional milk (I used the water the potatoes were boiled in). Fry the onion, carrot, and ground meat in a frying pan. If desired, you can add tomatoes, peppers, and other vegetables to the ground beef. Layer the potatoes: first the mashed potatoes, then the ground beef, then the cheese, then more mashed potatoes. Place a few knobs of butter on the top layer of potatoes and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
