I Learned a Lick... Now What? - Gypsy Jazz Workout #18 - Blues Clair Etude No.1

You’ve learned a great lick… now what? In today’s workout, we’ll explore how to turn a single lick into musical ideas you can actually use in your improvisation instead of just memorizing another phrase. Gypsy Jazz is often a very lick-oriented style, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But if you don’t want to sound like you’re just playing a collection of memorized licks, you need to learn how to develop the ideas within a lick, make them your own, and use them to build your improvisation skills. All of the examples from this video—including the original lick, its variations, and the Blues Clair Etude No. 1—are available here for free: ➡️ https://payhip.com/b/ldT7n If you found this workout helpful, please consider liking the video, subscribing to the channel, leaving a comment, or supporting the channel with a donation.
