John Denver Sanctuary & Botanical Gardens Tour - Aspen | Colorado

Within the heart of the quaint mountainside town of Aspen, Colorado lies a beautifully constructed botanical garden dedicated to country music legend John Denver. In today’s installment we will explore this tranquil park featuring large boulders with the lyrics to some of John’s most popular songs engraved in them. Relax as the sounds of alpine streams surround us as we pass through an enchanted aspen-filled forest. John Denver did in fact live in Aspen during the 1970s, where he was inspired to write many of his Colorado-themed hits based off of the surrounding mountain landscapes. After our adventure through the John Denver Sanctuary it was now time to grab some lunch at a local Mexican restaurant - Mi Chola which features a variety of authentic tacos. We then continued to explore the streets of Aspen including: local souvenir shops, historic buildings as well as the most impressive gemstone collection that I’ve witnessed with museum-quality pieces. This is by far the most well-manicured city I’ve been to in recent years. If you are a fan of smaller crowds, gourmet restaurants and designer shopping experiences - Aspen is the place for you.
