It is also a part of the test which often gives concern to Nominated Testers. Unless a correct assessment is made a corroded vehicle which is still safe may be unnnecessarily failed and perhaps consigned to the scrapheap. Even worse an unsafe vehicle could be used on the road without the owner realising.
