Work Knives - the Sodbuster or should that be Folding Butcher?

I’m particularly fond of old patterns, and I’m especially keen on what has become known as the Sodbuster. This is actually a more modern name than the rather ancient, at least 300 years old, folding butcher. Which I’m told is the literal translation of the German term. Case only trademarked the terms Sodbuster and Sodbuster Jr as late as 1967. Some 77 years after WR Case & Sons was established. How long had they been making the pattern? I do not know, but I expect it was since early in their history. I have a few of these in both traditional patterns and a couple you’d need to stretch things to meet the Sodbuster term.
