It is a sparsely populated region but rich in natural resources and is famous worldwide for its attractive landscapes. Formed by the provinces of Neuquén, Río Negro, Chubut, Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego, its main cities are Neuquén, Comodoro Rivadavia, and Trelew. Sheep farming is abundant in the region and fruits such as apple, pear and cherry are especially produced.
