Coffee Rum Wash
#coffeerum #rum #coffee #moonshine #distilling #brewing The coffee rum moonshine wash is ready to run. It's currently a sugar beer, based on brown sugar, molasses and coffee. But we have other plans for what we will do with this coffee rum wash. Not quite a blackstrap rum but not your traditional sugar wash either. Here's the recipe: 5 gallons water, 8 lb brown sugar (I used C&H dark brown sugar), 1.5 lb unsulphured molasses (I used 2 12 ounce jars of Grandma's Original), 8 ounces of coffee (I used 1 jar of Walmart generic instant coffee). I used instant coffee because it completely dissolves, and it's cheap. A better grade of coffee may offer a stronger or better coffee flavor. Just remember to strain the coffee grounds out of your wash before putting it into your still. Enjoy, this is a good recipe.
