For the past few days, Sakura has been looking different. She hasn't been severely depressed, and she doesn't appear sick, but her performance has begun to decline. Her movements are calmer, her responses are less than usual, and we've been wondering: is this due to treatment, EF, bathing, sunning, or is something else going on? After observing her for several days, the answer finally emerged from a small sign at the bottom of the cage: feathers starting to fall out. It turns out Sakura is starting to molt. In this video, we discuss Sakura's journey from the initial change in performance, the process of reading the signs, to the treatment decisions that are starting to be adjusted for the molting period.
