Ninco Super Kart Carrera Digital Conversion

I've been looking at the old Ninco Super Karts for a while, narrowly missed out on some at UK Slot Car Festival earlier this year, so when one came up cheap second hand on ebay it was hard to resist, and I didn't resist. I read somewhere that these are impossible to put a digital chip in because there's nowhere to put the chip. Challenge accepted!
