"Mein junges leben hat ein end" Sweelinck, André Marchal at St.-Eustache Paris (78 rpm, c1948)

André Marchal (1894-1980) performs Chorale “Mein junges Leben hat ein End” by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck (1561-1621) on the former organ of Église Saint-Eustache in Paris (France). It appears that there has been a mislabelling on this 78 rpm. The titles 'O Mensch bewein dein Sünde groß' and 'Mein junges Leben hat ein End' were inadvertently transposed on this 78 rpm record... Could it be a manufacturing fault? (Note: Thanks to Christopher Goddard(@webrarian) 9 june 2026: "Etiquette provisoire" means it's a provisional or temporary label, which probably explains why it's on the wrong side of the disc. Numerous renovations and extensions were carried out by various builders between 1879 and 1929. At the time of this recording, it had recently been rebuilt by Gonzalez in 1932. Marchal was titulaire organist here between 1945 and 1963; his departure resulted from a conflict over the choice of organ builder to restore the instrument of Saint-Eustache. (The current organ was built by Van den Heuvel within the historic case and completed in 1989.)
