Flute Solo - Ernesto Köhler - Berceuse Op 30 #2

Ernesto Köhler (1849 - 1907) was an Italian flutist. He wrote over 100 pieces for the flute, an opera and several ballets. He was taught by his father, Venceslau Joseph Köhler. Under the tutelage of his father, Köhler became a highly regarded flute soloist. Later on he played in orchestras in Vienna, then in St. Petersburg. This Berceuse is in 6/8 time, and has the characteristic feel of a lullaby. It is a lilting melody which is what Köhler's compositions are known for, and has a simple chordal accompaniment of I & V, also typical of a Berceuse. I used the accompaniment from the Play FLUTE Alone youtube channel.    • 🎼 E. KÖHLER - 6 Brilliant Pieces - II. Ber...   This piece can be found on IMSLP, and is copyright free. https://imslp.org/wiki/6_Morceaux_car...)
