The piano backing track is performed by Arthur Rubinstein. This solo entitled "CHOPin",was released on Marching Arts Day (March Fourth) as a tribute of inspiration and appreciation to all the artists out there overcoming resistance and expressing their art. The piece was written for marching snare drum over a piano recording track performed by Arthur Rubinstein of The "Minute" Waltz (Op. 64, No. 1) composed by Frédéric Chopin. Original audio source: • Arthur Rubinstein - Chopin "Minute Waltz" ... used by permission. To anyone who enjoys mixing genres, pairing flashy with elegant, combining high brow art with football stadium showmanship, and the unconventional pairing of one of the most precise instruments with one of the most fluid and delicate by nature, this is for you. The entire piece was composed around flexible, creative "liberties" of a concert pianist, but uses flavors of modern/ancient rudimental, Swiss, Drum Corps, WGI, and orchestral styles of drumming. Percussionists with these backgrounds may recognize many of the quotes, licks, and "Easter eggs" I slipped into CHOPin. They come from some other pieces I've learned, organizations I have been a part of, and some I have not. If you know me, you may appreciate that this piece is a nod to much of my history as a drummer, and I hope that it brings back fond memories of organizations you've been a part of as well. MARCH FOURTH! Thank you for watching. __________________________________________________________________ For inquiries, requests, and more information, visit: www.SieffMusic.com
