Because a magnitude 7 earthquake isn't just a number on a scale. It's energy that comes from underground, passes through the ground, meets the foundations, enters buildings, and tests everything: the design, the materials, the construction details, the maintenance, the technical culture of a country, and even the choices that have been postponed for years. In Venezuela, on June 24, 2026, there was not a single tremor. There was a very violent sequence: a magnitude 7.2 earthquake followed, less than a minute later, by an even stronger event of magnitude 7.5. A double shock, very close together, hit the north of the country, with particularly severe effects in the Caracas and La Guaira areas, and along the most densely populated urban belt.
