Synopsis: Filmmaker Alan Steinfeld captures the transition that was happening in the East Village in mid-1980s. On one bright summer day in June of 1985, he and performance artist Barbara Lehman walked through the heart of the East village down St. Marks place from Cooper Square to the Art festival in Tompkins Square Park. On the way they ran into many of the colorful characters who had made this community a hotbed of creative activity. at the time.
