Driven by a decades-long quest to create his own versatile, efficient, and memory-safe language, Thomas Mertes presents Seed7, his very own open-source programming language based on C. In this talk, he covers the language's modular syntax, including the definition and usage of data types, user-defined operators, and its unique evaluation model, which is similar to lambdas but with key differences. He demonstrates how Seed7 functions both as an interpreter and a compiler, allowing it to run seamlessly from the console or be interpreted in the browser.
