What did a smart watch look like 25 years ago? Does such a relic make any sense in 2022? Why don't I have an Apple Watch? Watches that make it easier to manage business and personal life are by no means Apple's invention. The Japanese at Casio outpaced the Americans at Apple by several decades. Just as the Apple Watch is a niche product today, the Data Bank back then was a gadget for a relatively small group of enthusiasts. For two weeks, I used a 25-year-old Casio "smart watch" daily. I'm sharing what I experienced. Just like traveling in a vintage car, there were also elements of admiration and respect for the engineers of yesteryear.
