Born in 1946, Nicodemus stands out for his profound ability to teach and communicate the message of the Gospel, as well as his dedication to ministry and the development of the Church. James 4:8 teaches us: "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." This is a wonderful promise, but it also invites us to consider how we are approaching Him. The first step is repentance. In Acts 3:19, we find the instruction: "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out." Repentance is essential to restoring our communion with God. We cannot hope to draw closer to the Creator while harboring in our hearts that which displeases Him. Furthermore, we must seek God through prayer and reading His Word. John 15:7 reminds us: "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you will ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." This shows us that intimacy with God is cultivated by being in His presence and in His truth. The caveat we need to consider is: we must not treat Him as an option or a last resort. Our approach must be genuine and intentional, seeking to know Him more deeply and live according to His will. In Hebrews 11:6, it says that "without faith it is impossible to please God." Therefore, the call is: seek God with a sincere heart and a willingness to submit to His will. May our lives not be mere moments of drawing near, but a continuous journey of spiritual growth, reflecting the love and truth of Christ in every step we take.
