The Brokpa Trail
The Brokpa Trail is a community-based film based on one of the last semi-nomadic pastoral communities surviving in the high Himalayas of Arunachal Pradesh known as the 'Brokpa'. Climate change has affected their traditional lifestyle in the form of erratic weather patterns, short winters, dwindling of grazing pastures, and gradually dying up of high altitude lakes (often their source of water). The dedication of the younger generation towards the alluring modern life has decimated their number comprehensively and unless adaptation strategies for their survival are devised, the brokpas will fall a victim to the clutches of modernity and a significant part of their history and identity will be lost forever. This film tries to spread awareness about this unique Brokpa community of Arunachal Pradesh. #thebrokpatrail #thebaileytrailtrek #arunachalpradesh
