Your Consumerism Is Keeping You Poor — My No-Buy Year Saved Me £15,000

Hi Guys! In this video, I’m sharing what I learnt from my no-buy year — not just about money, but on living an overall more conscious life too. Over the past year, I saved over £15,000 by cutting out unnecessary spending which I really wasn't expecting. Not only this but my habits and mindset around money and intentional living changed alongside this. I do want to say that my circumstances meant I didn’t have a huge amount of outgoings compared to others. I know that for many people with more financial responsibilities, saving this amount may not be realistic — so this isn’t about comparison, but more about the mindset and habits that I've learnt from a more conscious way of spending. I have realised how much of my time and energy was being spent on things that didn’t truly add value. Constantly doom scrolling to search for the “perfect” item, and chasing that short-lived dopamine hit from buying something new online. This video is a bit more of a sit-down chat so I'll cover things like: – how I approached my no-buy year – what changed financially – the habits I didn’t realise I had – the hidden cost of overconsumption – and how spending less actually led to living more intentionally It’s a but different style of video for my channel and hopefully you don't mind the title and thumbnail being a bit more clickbait haha, but I wanted to share this in case you’re feeling stuck in that same cycle or just want to become more conscious with your money and time too especially if you are a fellow 20 something year old :) I hope this helps you to start your journey in questioning what you’re really spending — and what it might be really costing you.
