Reaksi Redoks dan Elektrokimia • Part 9: Sel Volta dalam Kehidupan Sehari-hari dan Korosi

This video covers Redox Reactions and Electrochemistry, and this section discusses voltaic cells in everyday life and corrosion. In the previous section, we discussed voltaic cells at length, including their components, energy changes, reactions at the cathode and anode, cell reactions, cell diagrams/cell notation, and cell potential. This time, we will discuss how voltaic cells are applied in everyday life. In everyday life, we are certainly familiar with sources of electrical energy such as batteries and accumulators. Both of these devices operate using the principles of a voltaic cell. This section will explain the components of a battery and accumulator, as well as the reactions that occur when they are used. Furthermore, at the end of the video, we will also explain corrosion, which we know as rust in everyday life. How does iron rust and how can it be prevented? This video will cover everything in detail, so be sure to watch it from start to finish. 00:00 Intro 01:02 Primary and Secondary Voltaic Cells 02:30 Dry Cells (Batteries / Leclanche Cells) 03:57 Alkaline Cells (Alkaline Batteries) 05:14 Battery Cells (Accumulators) 06:57 Corrosion This video is a continuation of the previous part, so be sure to watch the previous part first to get a complete understanding. Additional information: 1. In alkaline cell components, KOH is used instead of NH4Cl. KOH is potassium hydroxide, which we know that potassium is an alkali metal (group IA). Furthermore, KOH is basic or alkaline. This is where the name "alkaline" comes from. 2. In the relationship between corrosion and the voltaic series, the metals to the left of iron (Fe) are colored green, indicating that these metals are able to protect the iron from rusting. On the other hand, the metals to the right of the iron are colored red, indicating they cannot protect the iron from rust.
