You can cook both herring and mackerel with this recipe. 🛒 Ingredients: Main components: Fish (herring or mackerel) - 3-4 pcs. (freshly frozen) Onion - 2-4 pcs. (depending on size) For spicy marinade (syrup): Vegetable oil - 150 g Ketchup or tomato paste - 4-5 tbsp. l. Vinegar (9%) - 4-5 tbsp. l. Salt - 1 tbsp. l. Sugar - 1 tbsp. l. Ground black pepper - 1 tsp. l. Ground red pepper - 0.5 tsp. l. 👩‍🍳 Step-by-step cooking: 1. Preparing the fish: Defrost the fish, thoroughly clean the entrails, cut off the heads, tails and fins. Rinse well under cold water, dry with a towel and cut into portioned pieces. 2. Preparing the onion: Peel the onion and cut into thin half rings or rings. 3. Preparing the tomato base: Pour 150 g of oil into a saucepan or frying pan, add 4-5 tbsp. l. ketchup (or tomato paste) and lightly fry the mixture over low heat for 1-2 minutes. 4. Creating the marinade: Remove the oil with the tomato from the heat. Add salt, sugar, black and red pepper, as well as vinegar. Mix everything thoroughly until smooth so that the dry ingredients dissolve. Let the marinade cool slightly. 5. Forming the dish: Take a deep pot or jar. Place the first layer of fish pieces on the bottom. Grease them with tomato marinade and generously cover with chopped onion. Repeat the layers (fish - marinade - onion) to the very top, until the ingredients run out. 6. Marinating: Close the container tightly with a lid and place in the refrigerator. Leave the fish to marinate for one day (24 hours).
