Obtaining a blood sample from a rodent patient. Tips I learned with this skill: warm the tail up first to help see the vein, pull the tail as flat and straight as possible for better blood flow and lastly if doing this skill for vet tech school, use a large sized rat and a light colored one to make it easier. Take time with obtaining blood when you see a flash and keep the needle straight and steady.
