Exploring the Camino Vasco del Interior

A raw and personal journey along the Camino Vasco del Interior – from Irun to Santo Domingo de la Calzada. This honest pilgrimage video follows my walk on the lesser-known inland Camino Vasco del Interior. Starting in Irun, I battled painful leg cramps which forced me to take trains between Hernani and Tolosa. I then continued walking from Tolosa through Beasain, Zegama, and Agurain/Salvatierra before heading to Vitoria-Gasteiz. Later cramps meant another train section from Vitoria-Gasteiz through Haro to Santo Domingo. I eventually returned to Bilbao (my departure city) and spent a full day exploring its vibrant streets and culture. In total I walked approximately 120-130 km of the route (skipping two train sections due to cramps). The video captures the physical challenges, beautiful Basque and Rioja landscapes, albergue life, local pintxos, and moments of unexpected human connection, kindness, vulnerability, and healing. This is a reflective travel story about resilience, human connection, and the little gifts the Camino brings when you need them most. Perfect for anyone planning the Camino Vasco del Interior, dealing with injuries on pilgrimage, or looking for authentic solo travel stories in Northern Spain. Thank you for watching ❤️ Drop a comment if you've walked any part of the Camino — I'd love to hear your story. 📍 Route: Irun → Hernani → (train) Tolosa → Beasain → Zegama → Agurain/Salvatierra → Vitoria-Gasteiz → (train) Haro → Santo Domingo de la Calzada → Bilbao (exploration day) Camino Vasco del Interior, Camino del Interior, Irun Camino, Santo Domingo de la Calzada, Vitoria Gasteiz, Haro Spain, Tolosa, Hernani, Beasain, Zegama, Agurain, Salvatierra, Bilbao Spain, Camino pilgrimage, Basque Camino, Northern Spain walking, Spain hiking, pilgrim journey, albergue life, leg cramps hiking, solo travel Spain, Camino 2025, Basque Country travel, Rioja region, walking pilgrimage, authentic travel vlog
