Lula define Cid Gomes como candidato à reeleição ao Senado pelo Ceará

President Lula (PT) has decided that Senator Cid Gomes (PSB-CE) will run for re-election to the Federal Senate representing Ceará. The announcement was made by Governor Elmano de Freitas (PT) after a meeting at the Alvorada Palace. It was also decided that Federal Deputy Júnior Mano (PSB-CE) will be the first alternate on the ticket. Those present at the meeting included Minister José Guimarães, of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations, Senator Camilo Santana (PT-CE), the Mayor of Fortaleza, Evandro Leitão (PT), and Cid Gomes himself.
