[Classic Cabinerit] Metro Rotterdam: lijn A, Binnenhof - Pernis

Classic Cab view on Rotterdam metro line A from Binnenhof to Pernis. Rolling stock: 2 x SG3 (Bombardier Flexity Swift) This time you can enjoy the view from the cabin on metro line A. It’s an early morning trip just at the start of the morning rush hour on which we ride towards the sun. At some places it’s still a bit slippery due to the morning dew on the tracks. Nothing we can’t handle: easing the acceleration and braking, a bit of sand every now and then, and moving on! For now the official route of line A runs from Binnenhof to Schiedam Centrum. Because of the construction works on the Hoekse lijn however, the route is extended towards Pernis so that passengers can transfer to the bus to Vlaardingen at station Vijfsluizen. As soon as the Hoekse lijn is put into service, line A will run from Binnenhof to Vlaardingen West. On the overhead wire part you see a departure restriction (vertrekverbod) at many stations. This is to prevent the level crossings from being closed unnecessarily long. Only after a green cab signal is shown, the level crossing will close. Following a number of questions on earlier videos I’ve added some additional information about the direction of different branches, and also: live speedometer and cab signals.
