Infinitive verbs can be classified as personal infinitive (inflected) and impersonal infinitive (not inflected). Every verb is recognized by the infinitive when it ends in AR (1st conjugation), ER (2nd conjugation) or IR (third conjugation). The verbal form of the gerund expresses the process in which the action occurs. The gerund is characterized by the ending “ndo”. Finally, the verbal form of the participle expresses the result of the action. There is the regular participle (characterized by the ending -ado, -ido) and the irregular participle (which can act as an adjective). In this class, Professor Mercedes explains each of the nominal forms of the verb. Do you have any questions?
