Otwieramy studio piercingu #69 Tokyo Piercing

Piercing, contrary to popular belief, is popular not only among teenagers. Maja Szajdziuk, owner of Tokyo Piercing and a Tiktoker, discusses how to turn it into a business. Piercing, or decorating the body with piercings, is a way of self-expression for some, fashion and extravagance for others, and for Maja Szajdziuk, a passion. So passionate that to enter the profession, she initially mopped floors in a Warsaw piercing studio – just to learn the ins and outs of the industry. Today, she runs her own studio and has developed her own client base and work model. "After all these years, there's no such thing as a strange piercing for me anymore. There are strange people everywhere, but there's no such thing as a strange piercing for me," says Maja Szajdziuk. The Secrets of Piercing A professional piercer needs professional training. A starting budget, a client base, but also their own rules and standards of conduct. Piercing isn't regulated, unlike tattoos, and there's no age limit for piercings. "But if a three-year-old comes along, I'll obviously say no. Although if I did pierce, I'm not legally responsible for it. But I don't want to do that. A child needs to be aware that it will hurt, that it needs care, that it needs to heal, and that it can't be touched," says Maja Szajdziuk. Her studio is frequented by teenagers and forties, women and men. She reaches her clients mainly through social media. She not only responds to trends, but now also creates them herself. "I always pressed my nipples, so I created this trend myself," laughs the piercer.
