Shipshewana, Indiana
Shipshewana is a town in Newbury township, LaGrange County, Indiana. In the early 1830's the first settlers of the present Newbury township found this area to be inhabited by Semi-Nomadic tribes of North America Indians. Shipshewana was named after a local Potawotomi Indian. The Amish came to LaGrange County, Indiana in 1841. In 1888 the first train went through Shipshewana and the town had its beginnings. Established in 1922. Shipshewana now one of Midwest's most popular destination's, with many shops, restaurants, and more. Shipshewana host many auctions, and flea markets. Make sure you have some good walking shoes for this trip because there is a lot to see and do.
