Abschied vom Knallfrosch
The first E 41 entered service on the DB (German Federal Railway) tracks in 1956. This new electric locomotive belonged to the E 10 family of locomotives. Over 450 of these light, multi-purpose electric locomotives were built by 1971. They were primarily intended for local passenger services, but also for light freight train operations. The loud switching noises earned it the nickname "Firecracker." One of its last routes of operation was Bremen-Rotenburg. That's where our scenes were filmed. The last runs ended in February 2006.
