49- TÜRKİYE' DE BÖLGE KAVRAMI

In Turkey, the concept of "region" encompasses not only the map but also the economy, people, and nature! 🌍 In this lesson, we learn the criteria for dividing Turkey into regions, the differences between official, geographic, and functional regions, and frequently asked definitions by ÖSYM. 📌 What's in this video? • What is a region? What are its types? • The difference between natural (physical), human, and economic regions • The concepts of geographic region, section, and locality • How is the distinction made between regions in Turkey? • ÖSYM's questions related to "factors and region types" 🗺️ What is a Region? A geographical area distinguished from other areas by specific natural, human, or economic characteristics. The most fundamental characteristic that defines a region: similarity. 💡 ÖSYM Definition: "Areas that exhibit similar natural or human characteristics are called regions." 🌋 Natural (Physical) Regions → Divided by elevation, climate, vegetation, geological structure, and landforms. Examples: Black Sea Region, Mediterranean Region. 🏙️ Human Regions → Divided by population, settlement, language, culture, economy, or administrative structure. Examples: Marmara Industrial Zone, Black Sea Migrant Region. 💼 Economic Regions → Determined by economic activities such as industry, agriculture, transportation, and trade. Examples: Zonguldak Ereğli Iron and Steel Industrial Zone, Antalya Tourism Region. 📍 Functional Regions → Areas functionally developed around a specific center. Example: Istanbul and its surroundings (port, finance, and transportation center). 📊 Geographic Regions (Official Distinction) Regional classification in Turkey was established in 1941 at the First Geography Congress. This classification was created by considering both natural and human characteristics. Total: 7 Geographic Regions, 21 Sections 1️⃣ Marmara 2️⃣ Aegean 3️⃣ Mediterranean 4️⃣ Black Sea 5️⃣ Central Anatolia 6️⃣ Eastern Anatolia 7️⃣ Southeastern Anatolia 💡 Section: Sub-areas within a region (example: Western Black Sea, Eastern Black Sea). 🧠 ÖSYM's Favorite Question Types 1. "Which of the following is not a geographical region?" 2. "Which of the following factors is effective in the formation of a natural region?" 3. "Region-feature matching" 4. "Physical-human region difference" 🎯 After this lesson, you will: • Distinguish all types of the concept of region. • Interpret Turkey's 7 regions and 21 sections. • Resolve the "region-criteria" relationship using ÖSYM's logic.
