BOYABAT'TA 2026 YILI ÇELTİK EKİMİ BAŞLADI

Rice planting has begun in Boyabat district of Sinop, and is expected to last for two weeks. District Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Murat Usta, told an AA reporter that he wished all producers a successful new rice planting season. In his statement, Usta said, "In our district, in 2025, 571 farmer families in 29 villages planted rice on 17,505 decares of land, resulting in an average yield of 750 to 800 kilograms per decare and approximately 14,000 tons of product. For 2026, since land consolidation work is continuing in Çatpınar, Çarşak, and Şıhlı villages, and because of the water problems experienced in our country and district, crop rotation will be implemented in some villages, the estimated rice planting area for 2026 is expected to be 12,000-13,000 decares. I wish our growers, who have contributed to every stage of rice production from field to table, a fruitful season." Satılmış Demir, a rice producer from Bağlıca village, stated, "We started planting rice for 2026. It was a rainy season. Last year was a bit difficult due to drought, but we expect a good yield this year. Hopefully, we will receive a good base price from our government and state, and we plan to close the season productively. Hopefully, it will be beneficial for both our producers and our state." Ali Kartaloğlu, another rice producer from Bağlıca village, while sowing seeds in the field, said, "This year we have plenty of water, hopefully our harvest will be abundant. Hopefully, our government will help us, our office will arrive on time, and we will be satisfied. Currently, the weather conditions are suitable, we have no problems. May God grant us all a good harvest." Murat Okutan, a rice producer from Alibeyli village, also said, "We started planting rice for 2026. Hopefully, our season will go well. Because 2025 was a dry year, our expectations were not met. Now we have plenty of water, hopefully we will have a productive year."
