New Barriers at Coalville Level Crossing (Leicestershire) (10.07.2020)

Days of filming 1 of 1 Level Crossings 1 of 5 Video filmed at 10:26 Location: High Street/Hotel Street, Coalville, LE67 3EN Timetable: Coalville Jn (for this train: Bardon Hill) As you may remember this crossing was unique for one reason, it’s barriers. The barriers were the very old here and very unique, how they lowered and raised the groaning motor noises they made as well. This crossing still has its very busy reputation with a lot of vehicle use and pedestrian use where as at night this crossing see hardly any road use. The train that passed was quite unexpected, luckily Network Rail was there and told us the train would be over this crossing in the next 10 mins so we managed to get ready for it. The train had not been pathed over Coalville Jn only at Bardon Hill so it was quite difficult to find it. There was a Network Rail train on the Coalville Jn timetable but that was Runs as Required and it was the wrong train. Just to say one thing, the barriers will be missed here.
