First JR. NBA League Launched In Kenya
The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Ford Motor Company (Ford) today announced the launch of the first Jr. NBA Nairobi League, an after- school basketball league for Kenyan boys ages 14 and under. The league tipped off at Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani, Nairobi with WNBA All-Star Chiney Ogwumike (Connecticut Sun) in attendance. The Jr. NBA Nairobi League in partnership with Ford will feature 30 local school teams competing for the league championship in June. Each school team will represent one of the 30 NBA teams and will receive corresponding NBA team-branded jerseys for their games.
