15 Things Cars On The Road Changed From The Movies

Cars has been hitting the big screen and wowing Pixar fans since 2006, so it’s no surprise creators would want to continue that legacy for as long as possible–and that’s exactly what they did. Since its original premiere, there have been 2 sequels, Cars 2 and Cars 3, as well as videogames and the Cars universe spinoff Planes! In today’s video, however, we’ll be focusing on the Disney+ mini-series Cars On The Road. The nine-episode feature opens up in Radiator Springs where we see what Lightning McQueen has been getting up to since he announced his retirement after the big Piston Cup in Cars 3. We soon find out that Mater is planning on leaving Radiator Springs for a bit to head back home for his sister, Mato’s (plot twist!) wedding. It’s soon decided that Lightning will join him and the two spend the next few episodes uncovering what the Cars universe has to offer, from dino parks to haunted mansions! If the shocking twist that Mater has a sister is any indication, the Cars On The Road mini-series unveils plenty of new facts, characters, and songs that we’ve never experienced in the Cars universe before.
