FIRST LANGO VIDEO DOCUMENTARY BY SAGRASS STUDENTS PRODUCE

REVIVING LANGO CULTURE Students in Lango subregion institutions have challenged cultural institutions in the region to appreciate their cultural heritage. This was as students of St Gracious Secondary School premiered a video documentary ‘‘My Tribe My Identity” that seeks to revive Lango culture and heritage. Ambience The students of St. Gracious Secondary School in Lira have lately dominated the social media spaces by their thrilling video documentary on the Lango tribe. Ambience A 40 minute video documentary ‘My Tribe My Identity” that seeks to revive the eroded Lango Culture and heritage that they have premiered tells it all. Documented in the video includes the lango first settlement site at Otuke, the center of Uganda in Amolatar, the historical cave and monument where Kabaka Mwanga and Kabalega hid before being arrested by colonial masters among other historical sites. The traditional leaders appealed to the government to support cultural institutions in promoting community-based tourism. Pops At the launch, students continued to showcase different cultural kits and cultural performances including the Lango Popular Dance “Ikoce” and Kiri among other cultural activities.
