It is possible that, when composing his Suite No. 6 in D major BWV 1012, Johann Sebastian Bach was thinking of the violoncello da spalla - an instrument he was probably familiar with. The five strings of this "rarity", presented for the first time in Spain in this concert, ease the interpretation of this complex creation.
