Can MuseScore 4 do Big Band? Part 1 - Starting a chart
#bigband #musescore4 #bigbandjazz In this series of videos I'm going to go through the process of writing a Big Band chart in MuseScore 4, highlighting some tips and tricks in working with MuseScore 4, as well as evaluating the playback potential that MuseScore 4's MuseSounds provide for a Big Band. In this video I start the process from scratch and start the outline with a chord progression, adding a very simple bass line and 8 bar melodic phrase so that we can start adding closed voicing in the horns. I am not a big band expert, but using this as an opportunity to improve my big band writing and arranging skills. I am following Elliot Deutch's (Pandemonium Big Band) playlist Big Band Arranging SECRETS REVEALED: • Big Band Arranging SECRETS REVEALED At 08:15 my apologies, I should have said quarter notes! 00:00 Intro 01:18 Starting a MuseScore chart 02:09 Fonts 03:01 Adding chord symbols 06:53 Swing! and tempo 08:06 Simple Walking Bass 11:40 Hiding unused staves 13:01 Melody in Trumpet 1 13:21 Articulations 14:38 Outro
