Webinar Micro Ultrasound Masterclass - A Clinical Overview

The first of a series of micro-ultrasound webinars, this was an introductory webinar on micro-ultrasound in urology, what it is, how it compares to current imaging workflows, and where it’s headed. We covered micro-ultrasound only and fusion biopsy workflows as well as other applications where micro-ultrasound can improve current clinical practice. Dr. Wayne Brisbane, Assistant Professor of Urology at UCLA Health, covered a technology overview, Clinical basis of ductal architecture, the PRI-MUS scoring system, the OPTIMUM trial, clinical applications, clinical evidence and validation, advantages over a conventional approach, research highlights, the training and learning curve, as well as a good demonstration of patient cases. Key points covered: **ExactVu uses 29 MHz technology vs. conventional 5-9 MHz ultrasound **Provides 70-micron spatial resolution **300% improvement in resolution over conventional ultrasound **Visualizes 95% of prostatic ducts vs. 15% with conventional ultrasound To learn more about ExactVu, the micro-ultrasound platform that provides the most practical solution as a new tool for urologists to perform targeted biopsies within a standard urological workflow, reach out to [email protected] or visit ExactImaging.com ~~~ Wayne Brisbane M.D. Assistant Professor of Urology Department of Urology, UCLA Dr. Brisbane’s research focuses on novel image-guided diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. His lab utilizes Micro-Ultrasound, MRI, and PSMA PET in combination with machine learning to improve the diagnostic accuracy for identifying prostate cancer. His work in Micro-Ultrasound imaging is funded by the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Phase One Foundation.
