In February, Laurentian University announced insolvency, and court proceedings under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA). The university's president cited recurring deficits, declining demographics, a tuition freeze, and the pandemic. Now, more than 100 faculty have been laid off, and more than 60 programs have been eliminated.
