Overraskelsen på Käringön! 🎂 Bursdag, teknisk kaos og stormen "Dave"
The surprise at Käringön! 🎂 Birthday, technical chaos and the storm "Dave" | To the Sea ep 71 The fog is thick, but we refuse to let it stop the birthday celebration! ⚓ This week we set sail from Lysekil after a solid bunkering at Ge Jernet. The course is set out towards Käringön, but the trip there offers more than just navigating the "white wall". A secret passage and an unwelcome storm ensure that this Easter will be anything but predictable. Welcome to a new episode of Til Sjøs with Lilli and HC – filled with reunions, technical challenges and quick decisions when nature shows its strength 🇳🇴🇸🇪 In this episode you will get: We have to rely 100% on the radar through the sea of fog before calm descends on Käringön – until Lilli gets the shock of her life on the pier! We also get a visit from Hans-Christian from Raymarine who brings a whole box of "Easter eggs": A massive upgrade with AIS700, AR200 and new GPS antennas. HC takes matters into their own hands (literally up on the roof), but quickly discovers that cable routing in a 17-meter boat rarely goes exactly according to plan. We show you how we prepare T1 for new technical systems, how we check the sanitary facilities for you, and why we suddenly have to change all plans when storm "Dave" announces its arrival with 6-meter waves. Highlights of the episode: ⛽ Bunkering in Lysekil: 770 liters of diesel and good advice from Ge Jernet. 📡 Radar in practice: How we navigate safely when visibility is zero. 🎁 The big surprise: Sofie has sneaked on the ferry to surprise her mom! 🔧 Technical deep dive: AIS, augmented reality (AR) and pulling backbone cables. 🛁 Sanitary check: We test the facilities on Käringön (important for all boaters!). 🌪️ Storm Dave: The weather forecast that forces an earlier return home. 🧼 The Visibility Experiment: HC tests Rain-x Anti-fog – does it work better than Zalo and shaving foam? This is real boating. Not drama for drama's sake – but the small choices, the technical victories (and defeats) and the moments that make the trip both safer and more real ❤️ 🎬 To the Sea | Ep 71 Watch the full series: https://www.youtube.com/@TilSjosMedLi... ⚓ Maritim: https://www.maritim.no 🛥️ Yanmar: https://www.yanmar.com/marine/no/ 🧭 Raymarine: https://www.raymarine.com/no-no 📧 Contact / collaboration: [email protected] 👇 We want to hear from YOU!
