La cryothérapie, du froid pour soigner les sportifs

Cryotherapy has existed since antiquity, but it was only in the 1970s that the application of cold using ice packs or cold sprays began to interest scientists. The Japanese were the first to develop a scientific methodology for evaluating the results obtained by lowering skin temperature: Dr. Yamaguchi developed the cryotherapy chamber in 1978, a chamber where the temperature drops to -164°C through the injection of nitrogen-enriched air. Since the 2000s, cryotherapy has been used by athletes for post-exercise recovery.
