This action packed race features the debut race (with a few issues) of the Trans Am Audi Quattro driven by Sarel van der Merwe as well as the ex-rally Nissan Skyline Turbo driven by Hannes Grobler. Hennie van der Linde (Nissan 300zx Turbo) has some serious turbo issues, Ben Morgenrood(Mazda RX7 Rotary) has an off, Willie Hepburn(Ford Sierra XR8) has tyre issues but are all back again in class A. Class B sees the debut race of Johan Coetzee in the Nissan Skyline, Ivor Raasch(Maxda RX7) is now in class B with Dick Sorensen(Nissan Skyline GTX), Larry Wilford(Mazda RX7),Gary Dunkerley(Porsche 911) Bryan Bezuidenhout(Nissan Skyline GTX) and Paddy Driver(Mazda RX7) all back in class B for 1989 of the fastest saloon car racing series in South Africa.
