Carmen in Concert International stars Kelley O’Connor, Charles Castronovo and Rod Gilfry joined with The Opera Buffs to present a concert performance of Georges Bizet’s Carmen. The performance took place at The Colburn School, Los Angeles, on August 20, 2017 with a supporting cast of student singers and chorus members, and an orchestra of young professionals under the direction of Brent McMunn. The Opera Buffs Inc, (www.operabuffs.org) is an educational non-profit that supports young singers who are pursuing careers in opera. The three principal artists, eager to try the opera’s roles, graciously donated their talents to the production in thanks for the Opera Buffs’ assistance early in their careers.
