The first theme you hear is “The Heavens Are Telling” from Franz Joseph Haydn’s oratorio “The Creation.” The second theme you hear is the hymn tune ELLACOMBE which has been set to several texts in our hymnals, including "I Sing the Mighty Power of God" and "Hosanna, Loud Hosanna." Throughout this piano arrangement you will hear both themes taking turns, sometimes in a full texture built on vertical harmonic pillars, other times in a thinner texture built on counterpoint. This arrangement is suitable for church prelude, offertory, postlude all year long, and pairs particularly well with sermons on the topic of creation (God the creator), sovereignty, worship, or wonder.
