Tabla also speaks. Tabla Kotha Bale #tabla Tabla is a type of two-part membranophone percussion instrument. Of the two parts, the part played by the right hand is called Dahina (Dina, Daanya) or Tabla and the part played by the left hand is called Baana or Dugi. The specialty of the tabla is its complex fingering and advanced bowl and the tabla player is called Tablia. The word Tablachi was previously used with the same meaning, but since it was more often used for the accompanists of Baijigan or Khemtana dance, many people consider it disrespectful, so the word Tablia came to be used instead of Tablachi. Origin A 200 BC sculpture from Bhaje Cave, Maharashtra, India shows a woman playing the tabla and performing it with another dancer. There are various theories about the origin of the tabla. One is about Amir Khusru. An instrument covered with skin on both sides like the mridangam breaks and splits into two, but even after that, a beautiful sound comes out of it. Hearing this, the fascinated Khusru says "Tab Bhi Bola". The word tabla may have come from "Tab Bhi Bola". It is also said that single-faced musical instruments have always existed. The mridangam's cover is used in that kind of instrument and its evolution is given to the tabla, whose main hero was Amir Khusru.
