Foliar sprays of micronutrients can also support plant health during extreme weather conditions. At the same time, farmers should avoid excessive nitrogen during hot weather as it can make plants more sensitive to heat and increase water demand. Finally, timely pest and weed control is important because stressed cotton plants are more vulnerable to insect attacks during hot weather. Regular field monitoring, early pest management, and removal of weeds help reduce competition for water and nutrients. By combining proper irrigation, soil management, nutrition, and field care, farmers can successfully protect cotton crops from the harsh effects of May and June heat and secure better yield.
