Brooklyn Sketchbook Library Project Tour

This is my tour of the sketchbook I completed for the Brooklyn Sketchbook Library! Here is that poem: Astray I often remember high school and how I wish I hadn’t taken it so seriously. It didn’t matter and our education system is a joke so I should have just laughed through it and not worried the years away. I wonder if college will be the same way. I’ll look back and wish I’d just taken it easier someday. At the end of it we all decay. None of us are here to stay And this world we’ve built from machines will never meet you halfway. The true world is full of wonder, color, and light. Instead of enjoying it we stare at these spots and smears of harsh mottled gray. Why do you dread Monday? If there is no god, would you still pray? It’s all made up, don’t you see? This world of violence, hatred, and greed. Did you forget there’s more to life than payday? Do you realize it’s a choice we all make every day? You choose to stay I choose to stay Who made these rules? who built this world? Why do we stay? If someone gave me a voice what would I say? What if we all just ran away? Instead of pretending to be adults, maybe we could play. If this were an option, would you stay? more me: My Website+Blog: http://maxinemay.com/ Maxine's Instagram:   / maxcat16   Maxine's Art Studio on Instagram:   / maxinesartstudio   Maxine's Art Studio on Facebook:   / maxinesartstudio
