Songwriter Dewey Bunnell references an exit sign to Ventura, CA that he saw on the Pacific Coast Highway during a family car trip, so he used it in the song. *** I have to highlight the rhythm section from the original track. Hal Blaine's drumming gives the song a Bossa Nova groove that gives structure to the melody and vocal harmonies.
