Luisa receives an unexpected visit: her son Arcadio, accompanied by his fiancée, Catalina, a woman the same age as Luisa. Arcadio wants to reconcile with his mother and make up for lost time, but the science teacher doesn't know what to think or how to proceed. Meanwhile, Doña Manuela tries to make her daughter reconsider her decision regarding Carmen, but the young headmistress is firm: she doesn't want Carmen to set foot in the academy again. Elsewhere, Flavia informs her teachers that she has made a difficult decision: she will not return to her husband, Enrique. On another note, a fire in the science lab causes Elías to lose his temper and end up creating a scene that embarrasses him in front of the entire academy. In her attempt to support and help Elías, Margarita investigates and concludes that the boy has a mental illness: schizophrenia.
