La Capte is part of one of the 14 districts of Hyères, a city in the south-east of France, on the Mediterranean, east of Toulon. This small seaside resort of 600 inhabitants and about 102 hectares, is located not far from the city center of Hyères, its airport, its port and the Fondue Tower, place of departure to the islands of Hyères, more commonly called each Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Le Levant (as well as the small island of Bagaud). Its inhabitants are called Captois.
